Whiskey Park
Whiskey Park by

Whiskey Park (100 Central Park South)
This upscale bar, located in the Trump Parc building, boasts a wide selection of wine, beer and spirits in addition to its varied cocktail menu. Rue 57 provides the 'small bites' menu. The 4pm opening time and businesslike interior make it an ideally classy location for a post-workday drink, and sports fans will enjoy the amenities of big-screen TVs and a pool table.
Hours: Sunday – Tuesday 4PM – 2AM, Wednesday 4PM – 3AM, Thursday - Saturday 4PM – 4AM

Bemelmans by

Bemelmans Bar (35 East 76th St)
This small but impressive bar is a historic locale, a work of art and a centerpiece of the Carlyle Hotel. The name comes from children's illustrator Ludwig Bemelmans, who created the beloved "Madeline" books and the idyllic murals on the walls of this bar (Madeline herself is among the fanciful figures that decorate the room) in exchange for lodging at the Carlyle. The bar has recently become known for its live music, and features a variety of drinks (a "Famous Cocktails" menu among them) as well as refined takes on traditional bar food (Ahi Tuna tacos, mini burgers) in addition to seafood and caviar.
Food is served: 5:30PM - 11:30PM.
Live entertainment: Sunday to Saturday: 5:30PM - 8:30PM and 9:30PM - 12:30PM

Prohibition by

Prohibition (503 Columbus Avenue)
This bar is meant to evoke the raucous spirit of the Speakeasy era- its décor and relaxed feel are very effective. Amenities offered every day include Happy Hour (5-7PM) and an impressive roster of live music, with no cover charge for the bands. There is a dinner menu in addition to standbys like wings and nachos; as for the drinks, there is an impressive array of bourbon, whiskey, and scotch in addition to beer, wine and cocktails.
Open 7 days a week at 5PM.

The Rose Club
The Rose Club by

The Rose Club at the Plaza Hotel (768 5th Avenue)
Accessible by the 5th avenue lobby of the hotel, this plush, opulent lounge bills itself as "Smart casual." Now that the signature Oak Room of the Plaza is closed, this seems to be the place at the hotel to gather, and the interior does not disappoint. A selection of many different wines and beers is complemented by one menu for traditional cocktails and another for newer, more exotic drinks. Not only is bar food available, there are specially marked 'healthy' options; desserts; different coffee and teas; and all of the cooking is trans-fat free.
Open daily from 11AM - 2AM;
Live Jazz Weds and Thurs.

Whiskey Trader via

Whiskey Trader (71 W 55th Street)
More of a 'hangout' than a place offering a fine selection of whiskeys, but it's known for its great prices, and the chance to get a drink while watching a game on one of the many TVs . Adding to the 'game day with friends', free popcorn comes with any drink you order.
Open 11AM to 4AM daily
