Squill

The squill is a small flower that blooms perennially and is a member of the Asparagaceae family. It is prolific throughout Asia as well as Europe and the United States. It blooms throughout the spring and is notable for its slight stature and delicate bloom. This plant grows only 6 to 8 inches tall, but can still withstand cold temperatures. It is frequently used as a border plant in the Conservatory Garden, though it sometimes appears in other locations as well. Its long petals can be white, purple, pink, cream, or violet. It is sometimes called scilla.
