- Q: Where in Central Park can I have my ceremony?

A: Central Park offers many picturesque options to hold your ceremony. The location of your ceremony is primarily dependent upon the number of guests that you intend on having at your ceremony. Here is a list of the locations in Central Park that we host wedding ceremonies at. Please click on each link to learn more about the location.
- Q: Can I have chairs at my ceremony?

A: According to the Parks Department rules, chairs are not allowed to be used in Central Park. Exceptions can be made for elderly guests and musicians.
- Q: Can I have a tent at my ceremony?

A: According to the Parks Department rules, tents are not allowed to be used in Central Park.
- Q: Can I have decorations at my ceremony?

A: According to Parks Department rules, decorations are not allowed in Central Park. This includes runners, lying of flower petals, confetti, seeds, etc.
Cherry Hill
***NOTE: Cherry Hill is unavailable until Summer 2012 due to construction***
Location in the Park: Cherry Hill is located mid – park, on the west side. The nearest park entrance is located at 72nd St. and Central Park West
Number of People Allowed: Cherry Hill can host up to 100 people.
Description: Cherry Hill offers breathtaking views of the city from the plaza near the fountain, to the lawn near The Lake, you are surrounded by many of the most popular and picturesque locations in the park. Cherry Hill is also known for its gorgeous Cherry Tree blossoms.
Bethesda Fountain Terrace
Location in the Park: Bethesda Fountain Terrace is located mid-park on the west side. The nearest park entrance is located at the corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Bethesda Fountain Terrace can host up to 25 people.
Description: Bethesda Fountain Terrace is a very popular location overlooking The Lake, at the end of the Mall. It is in close proximity to Bow Bridge and Cherry Hill. Bethesda Fountain Terrace also provides a beautiful archway shelter, just beyond the fountain.
Cop Cot
Location in the Park: Cop Cot is located in the center of the south end of Central Park. The nearest park entrance is located at the Artists Gate at the corner of 59th St. & 6th Avenue, Avenue of the Americas.
Number of People Allowed: Cop Cot can host up to 30 people.
Description: Cop Cot is located under the shelter of a wooden gazebo, near The Pond. This location provides an intimate and scenic experience.
Harlem Meer
Location in the Park: Harlem Meer is located in the northeastern corner of Central Park. The nearest park entrance is located at the Pioneers Gate at the corner of 110th St. and Central Park West, along the Duke Ellington Circle.
Number of People Allowed: Harlem Meer can host up to 100 people.
Description: Harlem Meer provides a large and scenic water front space.
Ladies Pavilion
Location in the Park: The Ladies Pavilion is located in the center of the park on the west side. The nearest park entrance to the Ladies Pavilion is located at 77th St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Ladies Pavilion can host up to 20 people.
Description: Ladies Pavilion provides shelter under the Victorian-style gazebo overlooking the Lake, nestled on the western end.
Wagner Cove
***NOTE: Wagner Cove is unavailable until Summer 2012 due to construction***
Location in the Park: Wagner Cove is located mid-park on the west side of Central Park. The nearest park entrance is located at the corner of 72nd St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Wagner Cove can host up to 20 people.
Description: Wagner Cove is one of the most intimate locations in Central Park, nestled below a stone staircase, at the corner of The Lake. Wagner Cove also provides a small shelter space underneath its gazebo.
Shakespeare Garden
Location in the Park: Shakespeare Garden is located in the center of the park on the west side. The nearest park entrance to Shakespeare Garden is located at the corner of 81st St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Shakespeare Garden can host up to 20 people.
Description: Shakespeare Garden provides a more intimate setting overlooking the beautiful flowers of the garden. It is located in close proximity to other picturesque locations such as Belvedere Castle and Belvedere Plaza.
Cedar Hill
Location in the Park: Cedar Hill is located on the east side, in the center of Central Park. The nearest entrance to Cedar Hill is at East 79th St. and 5th Ave
Number of People Allowed: Cedar Hill can host up to 50 people.
Description: Located just south of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cedar Hill provides a wide expanse of open green space for your ceremony.
Great Hill
Location in the Park: Great Hill is located on the west side in the northern corner of Central Park. The nearest park entrance to Great Hill is West 106th St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Great Hill can host up to 100 people.
Description: Great Hill provides ample space and greenery, while maintaining a very intimate feeling.
Gapstow Bridge
Location in the Park: Gapstow Bridge is located in the southeast end of Central Park. The nearest park entrance to Gapstow Bridge is through the Scholar’s Gate, past the Grand Army Plaza, at the corner of 59th St. and 5th Avenue.
Number of People Allowed: Gapstow Bridge can host up to 10 people.
Description: Gapstow Bridge crosses the narrowest point at the northeast end of the Pond. This beautiful stone bridge provides a very intimate location for a small ceremony.
Belvedere Plaza
Location in the Park: Belvedere Plaza is located in the center of Central Park. The nearest park entrance to Belvedere Plaza is at the corner of 81st St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Belvedere Plaza can host up to 20 people
Description: Belvedere Plaza is located right outside of Belvedere Castle, on Turtle Pond. It provides great views of The Great Lawn, Turtle Pond, and Belvedere Castle
Bow Bridge
Location in the Park: Bow Bridge is located in the center of the park, connecting the Ramble and Cherry Hill. The closest access point is at the park entrance located at 72nd St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Bow Bridge can host up to 15 people.
Description: Bow Bridge is one of the most cinematic locations in the park, playing host to many scenes in films and TV programs.
Summit Rock
Location in the Park: Summit Rock is located mid-park on the west side. The nearest park entrance is located at 81st St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: Summit Rock can host up to 200 people.
Description: Summit Rock is located at the highest point in Central Park. This big open space is a hidden gem in the park. It is large, yet intimate and surrounded by trees. The natural settings of the location provide an altar-like space for your ceremony and nearby benches provide some seating.
The Pool
Location in the Park: The Pool is located in the northwestern area of Central Park. The nearest park entrance to the Pool is at 100th St. and Central Park West.
Number of People Allowed: The Pool is broken up into two possible ceremony locations: The North Lawn and the South Lawn. The North Lawn can host up to 15 people. The South Lawn can host up to 25 people.
Description: The Pool is a beautiful waterfront location with plenty of tree coverage and open green space.
Conservatory Garden
The Conservatory Garden is a special location in Central Park that is run by the Central Park Conservancy. To have a ceremony in Conservatory Garden requires a special permit. The cost for the permit for Conservatory Garden is $500, which includes a permit for photography.
Location: Conservatory Garden is located in the northeast area of Central Park. The main, gated, entrance to Conservatory Garden is at the corner of 105th St. and 5th Avenue.
Number of People Allowed: Conservatory Garden can host up to 100 people.
Description: Conservatory Garden is broken up into 4 different locations:
The North Garden: The North Garden is also known as the French Garden. It features beautiful seasonal blossoms and a sculpture by Walter Shott, called the Three Dancing Maidens.
The Central Garden: The Central Garden is also known as the Italian Garden. It provides a large rectangular lawn anchored by a jet fountain and enclosed by two beautiful walkways shaded by the pinks and whites of crabapple trees.
Wisteria Pergola: The Wisteria Pergola is located on the western end of the Central Garden and serves as a picturesque walkway along the Central Garden.
The South Garden: The South Garden is also known as the English Garden. It hosts many different seasonal flowers, lilac trees, and the Burnett Fountain.
