NYRR Races
The New York Road Runners Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year and it has experienced
phenomenal growth and success over that half century. It has become one of the nation's leading promoters
of the sport of distance running.
The NYRR has also led an effort to enhance health and fitness for all, while being responsive to community needs. Their road races and other fitness programs draw upwards of 300,000 runners annually. Their series of monthly races in Central Park form an integral, and very enjoyable, part of the training regimen for thousands of ING New York City Marathon runners. The races also constitute a valuable means of insuring entry to this internationally popular event.
