A little about me
I live a block from Central Park and spend time there every chance I get. Weather it's running or taking our son to the playground, we are in the park nearly every day. Taking a camera in the park is almost a given. I see something new every time I'm in the park and my camera helps me document these new discoveries. Over the past few years I have developed quite a collection of photos from the park and have some on display at www.zerelli.com. Please visit anytime!
Favorite Central Park place
The entire park is fantastic and there are different places I love for different reasons. I love the Conservatory Garden for it's beauty in the spring and summer. I love the carousel because it reminds me of my wife and son. I love Straberry Fields because it reminds me of our old apartment on 72nd St. Strawberry Fields also holds a special place in my heart for another reason. On the Friday after Septermber 11th, 2001, there was a candlelight vigil in Central Park. It was not in any particular location, it was pretty much anywhere you felt like going. We were living on 72nd St at the time so we went in to the Strawberry Fileds entrance to the park with our candles not really knowing what to expect. I had never seen so many people crowded around the Imagine circle and the adjacent sidewalks, there must have been well over a thousand people. After about ten minutes a kid walked through the middle of the crowd toward the Imagine circle with music blasting out of a radio . . . it was the song Imagine by John Lennon and the Beatles. Every single person there started singing along, most people fighting back tears as well. It still gives to the chills to this day and it is a memory I will never forget.
