Wanted and dreamed and even planned to visit/be part of New York city in my early teens. Twenty three years later I finally lived the dream -with my daughter Laura. We stayed on Broadway in the upper west side and instantly realised I was right to yearn to be part of NYC and also how much guide books and films don't quite portray its unique feel. OK you have to see the tourist spots but New York is all about living amongst New Yorkers to really witness the greatest city on Earth.
