New traffic Rules In Central Park

The new regulations, announced by the New York City Department of Transportation and the Department of Parks & Recreation Commissioner are designed to keep walkers, joggers and cyclists safe in the park -- and to improve the quality of life for all park users, according to NYCDOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan.Currently, vehicular traffic is allowed on the West Drive between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., while the East Drive is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. [The East Drive from Sixth Avenue to 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue is open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.]
