Artist Jeanne-Claude, Co-Creator of "The Gates" Dies at 74

The co-creator of the 2005 Central Park art installation "The Gates" has passed away due to complications from a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was 74.
Jeanne-Claude and her husband Christo spent 26 years bringing The Gates together. Christo is deeply saddened, but vows to keep the promise they made to each other many years ago to make sure that their art lives on.
Mayor Bloomberg offered his condolences to Christo in a phone call and praised them as visionaries who brightened the city and showed the world how art can transform an everyday view into something magical.
