Wettest October in Central Park History
October 25, 2005
With the month not yet over and more rains pelting down this week this has already been the wettest October on record in Central Park, where records have been kept since 1881. So far, 14.37 inches had been measured through Monday October 24th, beating the record of 12.97 inches in 1913.We'll keep you up to date as the final record is set later this week. The record for rainfall in the park for any month is 16.85 inches of rain which fell in September 1882. Unfortunately it looks like we have a good chance of breaking that this week. The weather is also putting a damper on photography enthusiasts looking for pictures of this years foliage change.
