NYC Marathon Closest, Biggest in History

The New York City Marathon is the largest in the world and this past Sunday it featured the closest men’s finish in race history. It also awarded a record $873,000 in prize money, as well as a record 36,894 finishers, 132 more than last year. Paul Tergat, of Kenya, defeated defending champion Hendrick Ramaala by only a third of a second in 2:09:30. Jelena Prokopcuka, of Latvia, won the women’s division by defeating Suasan Chepkemei in 2:24:41.more..
