Josh Koerpel is the content director for CentralPark.com.  His writing talents sprang from an unlikely set of circumstances.  Upon graduating from Denison University in 2003 with a degree in Spanish, he spent the next 5 years crewing aboard tall ships and sailing the world's oceans.  His writing evolved and improved through the record of his experiences in travel journals, and after an accident he and fellow crewmates experienced off the coast of France in 2005, he wrote an article published in SailJazz magazine (US) and ClassicBoat magazine (UK) recounting the event.  After returning and receiving his captains license, he moved to New York and spent his days writing and working on the water.  Yearning to combine his writing with his other passion, motorcycle travel, he and his wife recently embarked on a 3 month journey to explore northern India on an old british motorcycle.
An avid outdoorsman, Josh enjoys the escape and solitude that Central Park provides, and also regards it as an important part of environmental education.  He is very excited to be on the CentralPark.com team and vows to do everything electronically possible to provide you with all the wonders of the park at a clicks notice.
