Year round Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides are a park favorite as they provide an opportunity to go back in time to the days of old and experience the beauty of Central Park from a meandering carriage.  Visiting the Central Park Zoo or taking a self-guided Walking Tour is also a fun excursion anytime of year.  For families, there are plenty of great children activities and over 20 playgrounds. Athletes and sport-lovers will be happy to learn that there are a myriad of sporting opportunities in Central Park throughout all of the seasons.

During the warmer months, seasonal concerts, plays and events come to Central Park.  Shakespeare in the Park is an enriching and free way to spend an artistic evening.  Also concerts, such as those presented by SummerStage, Good Morning America, The New York Philharmonic and more, feature a wide variety of genres for all music-lovers.  Plus when the Central Park Film Festival comes around during August, catching an evening movie on the grass in the park is also a great summertime activity. Picnicking is also incredibly popular as it allows guests to truly bask in the park's scenic beauty.
