Green and black dart-poison frog (Dendrobates auratus)
Where found : Central America from southern Nicaragua to Costa Rica, and South America from Panama to Colombia. Introduced to Oahu, Hawaii.
Diet : Insects, predominantly ants.
Description : Up to 2.3 inches.
Life Span : 4 years in captivity. Additional references

Panamanian golden frog (Atelopus zeteki)
Where found : Mid-elevation rain forests of Panama. These frogs are the national symbol of Panama but are quickly becoming extinct.
Diet : Small bugs. At the Central Park Zoo, these brightly colored amphibians are fed crickets.
Description : Different color varieties, ranging from solid egg-yolk yellow or orange-gold to a pattern with small black or brown spots on their backs.

Red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas)
Where found : Along the Caribbean from central Mexico to northern Honduras, southward to the Panama Canal.
Diet : Insects such as crickets, moths, flies, and grasshoppers. At the Central Park Zoo these colorful frogs are fed crickets.
Description : Bold, bright red eyes. The body is predominantly neon green splashed with yellow or blue. The feet are a bright red or orange color and the toes sport suction cups to grasp onto leaves and branches.
Interesting note : This frog can change its color depending on its mood. It might take a while to find this frog among the foliage in the exhibit; it is only about 2-3 inches long and is camouflaged well. Be prepared to spend some time playing hide and seek.

White’s tree frog (Litoria caerulea)
Where found : Northeastern half of Australia, southern New Guinea, and the Irian Jaya province of Indonesia.
Diet : Insects, mealworms, spiders, moths, earthworms, snails, and slugs. It will also eat small vertebrates, including other frogs.
Description : Green coloration, blending into trees where it makes its home.
Life span : Up to 20 years in captivity and 8—12 years in the wild.
