16th Annual New York City Buddy Walk

The 16th Annual New York City Buddy Walk will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
Starting at the Great Hill in Central Park, located at 106th Street and Central Park West, more than 2,000 people, including individuals with Down syndrome and their families and friends, will walk a one mile course.
To register for the walk in advance, click here. In person registration begins at 11 AM at The Great Hill and will remain open throughout the day.
The event aims to promote inclusion and acceptance and raise awareness about the value of people Down syndrome. All individuals with Down syndrome and children under 13 will receive a participation medal.
In addition to the walk, there will be events in the park all day. Carnival games and food, face painting, Brad Hennefer's Golf for Life Clinic, a parachute game and other activities will also be available free of charge. Additionally, located by the Exhibitor's Marketplace, participants can get free samples and to learn more about the event's sponsors and partners.
It is recommended that walkers bring along a picnic lunch and find a cozy patch of grass where you and your team can spread out and enjoy the afternoon. Live entertainment will also take place on the main stage all day. The 2010 featured act is Signing Time with Rachel Coleman.
