Every first and third Saturday of the month.

Beginners Lectures & Open Play Sessions:

Learn to play the game of kings with professional chess teacher in three beginners workshops. Recommended ages 6+.

Advanced Players Lectures and Simuls:

Learn local Grandmasters' secrets to improve your chess game, then test your new skills against theirs or a friend's in the Conservancy's exciting summer-time series of chess lectures and "Simul" (simultaneous) games, in which the Grandmaster plays up to 30 participants at once, moving from board to board making one move at a time. All are welcome to enjoy the lecture and cheer on Simul participants. Official chess rating and day-of registration required for Simul participation when registered on a first-come first-served basis from 10:30 am - 11:00 am on the morning of the event.

Open Play Sessions:

Test your skills, meet new friends, and enjoy beautiful views of the Park while playing chess on the mosaic tables under the pergola.
