Central Park and other urban parks across the country are important facets of the community. To learn more about the rebirth and development plans for parks nationwide, head to the third floor gallery of the Arsenal, at 830 5th Avenue, on Tuesday, July 27.
From 6:30PM- 8:00PM, Peter Harnik, director of the Center for City Park Excellence at the Trust for Public Land in Washington, D.C., will read from his new book, Urban Green: Innovative Parks for Resurgent Cities.
The lecture, co-presented with the Department of Park and Recreation's Common Ground series, will convey the newest ways that cities can add much-needed park land.
The event is free and will be followed up with a reception on the Arsenal's roof garden.
