Hunt for Wild Wineberries in Central Park with "Wildman" Steve Brill
to
At 11:45 AM on Sunday, July 16, at W. 103rd St. and Central Park West, America's go-to guy for foraging, "Wildman" Steve Brill, will lead one of his world-famous foraging tours of Central Park. Central Park provides a great window into the world of wild foods of early spring. Making a meal with these plants is easy at this time. For an appetizer, try simmering the bulbs or seeds of field garlic, which grows throughout the park, in diluted vinegar, with Italian seasonings, to make an outstanding pickle.
It's a great time for wild salad greens, and we'll be finding great quantities of these weedy delicacies. Spicy mustard greens, such as poor man's pepper, hedge mustard, and garlic mustard, may pop up on lawns anywhere.
The 4-hour foraging tour of Central Park begins at 11:45 AM, Saturday, July 16, at Central Park West and West 103rd St.
The suggested donation is $20/adults, $10/children under 12.
Please call (914) 835-2153 at least 24 hours ahead to reserve a place.
