Japan Day & Run 2012
The Japan Day Central Park Committee is planning to hold this year’s Japan Day in Central Park on May 13th 2012. There will be a 4 mile race at 8:00 AM followed by an awards ceremony and activities.
Last year’s event took place in May with over 30,000 people participating.
2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the cherry trees given by Japan to the U.S. as a symbol of enduring cross-cultural friendship, and Japan Day this year will feature special events to celebrate this proud centennial.
In addition, food & activity tents will be back by popular demand, along with stage performances showcasing many exciting facets of contemporary and traditional Japanese culture.
Date: May 13th, 2012 (Sunday: Mother's Day)
