Whether you are running the TCS New York City Marathon, or are a friend or family member here to support a marathoner, enjoy this guided tour of the route from the spot where runners enter the Park to the finish line.
You won’t be able to see any of it on race day, but join our tour guides on this special tour offered just once a year, and learn the history and stories behind sites the runners will whisk right by. Highlights of this tour include the Reservoir, Obelisk (Cleopatra's Needle), Literary Walk, and Sheep Meadow.
Meet: John Purroy Mitchel Monument (Engineer's Gate entrance to the Park at 90th Street and Fifth Avenue). Tour ends at the Marathon Finish line, near Tavern on the Green (inside the Park, on the west side near 66th and 67th Streets).
Terrain: A few inclines
Length of Tour: approximately 90 minutes
Cost: Tickets $15 (Members $10)
