Music for Action: A Climate Week Concert with Young the Giant and St. Lucia
Young the Giant and St. Lucia bring Climate Week to Rumsey Playfield.
SummerStage hosts Music for Action, a free concert pairing live music with climate advocacy, on Tuesday, September 22 at Rumsey Playfield. Multi-platinum rock band Young the Giant headlines, joined by alt-pop duo St. Lucia, with proceeds and awareness efforts benefiting LymeLnk's work on tick-borne disease.
Doors open at 6:00 PM and the show runs through 10:00 PM. Like every SummerStage concert at Rumsey Playfield, admission is free and general admission standing, first come, first served.
Who's Playing
Young the Giant built its following on singles like "Cough Syrup" and "My Body," and returns to Rumsey Playfield with material from its sixth album, Victory Garden, which explores resilience and connection. The band has made environmental work part of its touring practice, partnering with the nonprofit REVERB to measure and offset its tour carbon footprint, support local climate groups in tour cities, and route a share of ticket sales to REVERB's Climate Project Portfolio.
Opening the night is St. Lucia, the alt-pop project of Jean-Philip Grobler and Patti Beranek, performing songs from their album Dusk.
The Cause Behind the Concert
Music for Action pairs the concert with LymeLnk, an organization focused on raising awareness about tick-borne diseases and the link between climate change and their spread. The show is sponsored by the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.

Getting to Rumsey Playfield
Rumsey Playfield sits at East 71st Street and East Drive, near the center of the park. The 6 train stops at 68th Street, a short walk from the East Drive entrance, and the B and C trains stop at 72nd Street on the west side. Since this is a general admission show, arriving close to the 6:00 PM door time gets you a better spot on the field.
