On Marathon Saturday, November 2, the NYRR Dash to the Finish Line 5K (3.1 miles) will take place for all runners who want to join in the marathon festivities. You can take a high-speed tour of midtown Manhattan—en route to a spectacular finish in Central Park. Friends and family, marathoners and non-marathoners—all are welcome. All entrants receive a technical T-shirt.
Runners who were entered in the 2012 Dash to the Finish Line 5K and chose to participate in this year's race should see the race on their list of registered races in My NYRR.
Course Info:
You’ll start at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza on 47th street between 1st and 2nd avenues, near the United Nations, and head south. You’ll turn right (west) on world-famous 42nd Street—this is one of only two NYRR races, along with the NYC Half, that take runners right through the heart of NYC—and head west to Sixth Avenue, where you’ll turn right (north). When you see the trees of Central Park ahead, get ready to turn right on West 59th Street/Central Park South and then quickly left into the Park at Grand Army Plaza. You’ll bear left and continue onto West Drive in the Park—and soon you’ll be curving to the right toward the famed ING New York City Marathon finish line. You can sprint up the two minor uphills to the big finish structure above the road next to 67th Street and Tavern on the Green.
This event is hosted by NYRR.
