Ride the Carousel

The Carousel in Central Park, located mid-park at 64th, has been a staple since 1871 when the original attraction opened. One of the nation's largest merry-go-rounds, it features 57 hand-carved horses and two decorative chariots.

More than 250,000 people take a ride on the Carousel every year.  It is open year round with limited operation during the colder months.  From April-November, guests can take a 5-minute ride from 10AM- 6PM; from December-March, if the weather permits, the Carousel is open from 10AM- 4:30PM on the weekends.  A ride costs $2 per person.

Note: The Carousel is under temporary control of the Trump Organization and Wollman Rink until a new owner is found. For further information, call 212-439-6900 or visit our Carousel Page.
