Baby's Breath

Baby's breath is a member of the Caryophyllaceae family, and is widely known for its popularity in floral bouquets and private gardens. It is a much-loved member of the Conservatory Garden collection, even though it is only in bloom a few months of the year. The delicate white flowers provide a charming counterpoint to the vibrant roses, tulips, daffodils, and lilacs that characterize the Conservatory Garden. This plant, also known as gypsophilia, grows best in direct sunlight and well-drained soil. It can be found throughout the United States in almost any variety of its 100 species. In addition to its characteristic white blooms, it can also display light pink flowers.
