New Parade Route Takes Turn Along Central Park South

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade will follow a new route this year, including a run along Central Park South until 7th Ave. The new parade route, which in the past has followed the diagonal cut of Broadway, will be adopted because of the recent transformation of Broadway into a pedestrian mall. This will introduce 3 new 90-degree turns into the route, a challenge even to experienced balloon handlers.
