Tavern On The Green's 3-Day Auction Comes To A Close

Most of Tavern On The Green's treasures were auctioned off to bidders last week in order to pay off the creditors that kept the restaurant alive over the past few years. The LeRoy family, the owners and operators of the restaurant, hoped to raise upwards of $8 million after filing for bankruptcy last fall. The competition to own some of the Green's one-of-a-kind relics was tight, as bidders bid from the floor, phone and even online.
