Central Park to Get Fresh Produce Carts

The New York Post reports that the city is expanding its eat-healthy Green Cart campaign: food vendors will now be able to offer fresh fruits and vegetables at competitive prices to Park visitors. These carts will be in direct competition with longtime snack-food carts, and the reviews are mixed. The carts will be able to operate in three choice locations around the park, close to museums, beginning next month. Produce will come from the Hunts Point market adn the carts will be furnished by a firm called United Snacks.
