Liev Schreiber To Play Macbeth At The Delacorte
February 28, 2006
Liev Shreiber, who has previously starred in Cymbeline and Henry V at the Delacorte, will once again appear in a Public Theater production, his fifth. This time he will be playing Macbeth, a role he has sought since last year. "Like every actor, I’d like to play Macbeth," he said in an interview back in June of 2005. "I’ll be going down to the New York Shakespeare Festival and talking to Oskar Eustis." Apparently the talks went well - Moises Kaufman will direct the production which, like all performances at the Delacorte, will feature a limited number of free tickets for every performance.
