Free Lawn Bowling Clinics in Central Park

Try lawn bowling for free on Central Park's historic greens.
No experience needed, and no equipment to bring. The New York Lawn Bowling Club hosts free drop-in clinics on the Central Park greens every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Show up, grab a set of bowls, and a club member will walk you through the basics before you play your first end. The only requirement is flat-soled shoes to protect the turf.
Clinics are weather-dependent, and select Tuesday dates are closed for green maintenance. Check the NYLBC clinic page before you head over, since closures can happen on short notice.
Where to Find the Bowling and Croquet Greens
The greens are tucked just north of Sheep Meadow at West 69th Street, inside two fenced 15,000-square-foot fields that have hosted lawn bowling since 1926.
