Juneteenth: Seneca Village with NYC Parks
Learn about Seneca Village with NYC Parks Urban Park Rangers.
Before Central Park was built, the area from West 82nd to West 89th Street was home to Seneca Village, the largest community of African-American property owners in 19th-century New York.
On June 19, NYC Parks Urban Park Rangers lead a free program at the Seneca Village site exploring how this community lived and what its history means today.
The program runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. No registration required. Enter at West 81st Street and Central Park West.
This is a FREE event.
