St. Patrick's Day Parade 2026

This is the largest and oldest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world! 

Held annually since 1762, the St. Patrick's Day Parade attracts nearly 2 million spectators and is one of New York City's greatest traditions. To this day, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade remains true to its roots as a marchers-only parade by not allowing floats, automobiles and other commercial aspects.

What's to be expected at the 2026 St. Patrick's Day Parade?

The 265th New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will take place along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Monday, March 17, 2026. The Grand Marshal this year is Robert J. McCann, a finance executive and Board Chair of the Irish Arts Center, as well as a dual citizen of the United States and Ireland.

The parade will feature a variety of performers, including marching bands, bagpipers, Irish dancers, cultural organizations, uniformed services, and political figures.

Where will the parade be broadcast?

Where does the parade start and finish?

The parade begins on 5th Avenue at 44th Street and marches uptown to finish at the Irish Historical Society on 5th Avenue at 79th Street.

What time is the parade?

The parade begins at 11:00 AM and finishes at approximately 4:30 PM.

Will there be any portable restrooms available along the route?

Will there be any park entrance closures?

Yes. All Park entrances between East 61st and East 65th Streets; the 66th Street and 79th Street Transverse Roads; the Billy Johnson Playground, and the East 72nd Street Playground.
