Central Park now has free Wi-Fi, which means that you now have a new office! Ditch the cubicle, the coffee shop, and even the corner office with a view of the park for a spot that’s actually IN the park. Central Park offers an abundance of fresh air, peaceful surroundings, beautiful scenery and natural light – all the makings of a great physical work environment, which, studies have shown can decrease stress and increase productivity (we’ll forward those studies to your boss). Come out for an hour to spark your creativity, or pack up your desk and make it a regular work spot.

There are several Wi-Fi hotspots located throughout Central Park and today we would like to highlight the one we like the most - the northern part of the Sheep Meadow. The area around Mineral Springs, just east of West Drive and adjacent to 69th Street has a strong wireless signal, rest facilities, drinking fountains and refreshments. Lay down a blanket, break out your laptop and get comfortable in your nature-inspired work space.

While there you can also stop in at Mineral Springs Pavilion, which once served up 30 unique varieties of spring water, and is now home to Le Pain Quotidien - a great spot to drop in for a morning croissant, a tartine (open faced sandwich) for lunch or an after-work glass of beer or wine. There are other Wi-Fi hotspots to check out as well, whether you want to use the wireless connection in the park for work, for socializing, to book a tour or to check on CentralPark.com for events. But no matter which location you choose, Central Park is definitely a great place to hang out and connect! Find all of Central Park’s wireless access locations here.
