Last year more than 10,000 supporters participated in the Central Park Challenge, a series of events and activities sponsored by YAI and Broadview Networks that are aimed to raise funds and awareness for the rights of people with disabilities.
The 2010 Challenge will take place on Saturday, June 5th at 7:30 AM at the Bandshell. The goal is to raise $1.5 million. Individuals or teams can sign up to participate in any of the following activities: a 3K Walk, 5K Run or the Children's Jr. All-American Races. There will also be a Children's PLay Area set up for those too young to participate in the other events. The day's festivities will be commenced with an Awards Ceremony.
All the money raised goes to fund YAI programming that is specifically designed to assist individuals living with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. For more information on starting a team or making a donation go to the Central Park Challenge's website.
