Immerse yourself in romantic summer nights with weekly Tango dancing in Central Park.
Every Saturday from June through September you can join Central Park Tango for enchanting evenings of dance at the Shakespeare Statue. The atmosphere is casual, inviting everyone to enjoy the music, the dance, and the romantic setting of Central Park at sunset. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
Dance Level: All levels welcome, from beginners to experts. No partner needed.
Admission: Free or pay what you wish.
Location: Shakespeare Statue, south end of The Mall. Enter the Park at Fifth Avenue, just south of 67th Street.
When: Saturdays from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Free Lessons: Beginner lessons start around 7:00 PM, open to all.
What to Wear: The dance floor is paved with stones, so wear comfortable shoes. Chalk is provided to make shoes more slippery for easier dancing.
Weather: In case of rain, the event is moved to the Dairy Visitor Center.
About: Central Park Tango is a group of local and international dancers and spectators who have been meeting each summer since the mid-1990's. The event is organized by passionate volunteers who have been sharing their love of Tango for decades. Your contributions help cover costs and support this unforgettable summer tradition!
