Dance Is Life at the Naumburg Bandshell 2026

Join this Latin Hustle dance party under the open sky in Central Park.

Dance Is Life brings its summer series to the Naumburg Bandshell on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM to sundown. The event is free and open to everyone. Hosted by Natasha Diggs and Abdiel, with special guests to be announced.

The Naumburg Bandshell sits at the southern end of the Mall, with an open-air dance floor that gives dancers and spectators plenty of room to move.

About

Dance Is Life is a free, intergenerational dance party built around Latin Hustle, a partner dance that took shape in the South Bronx in the early 1970s, created largely by Puerto Rican and Black teenagers. The gatherings honor the dance's LGBTQ+ innovators and welcome any gender to lead, follow, or swap roles. All street and club dance styles are welcome alongside Latin Hustle.

Getting There

Take the B or C train to 72nd Street and Central Park West, directly at the park entrance. The 1, 2, or 3 train to 72nd Street and Broadway is also nearby, with a short walk east to the park. Enter at West 72nd Street and follow the Mall east to the Bandshell.
