Easter Parade
The Easter Parade will take place this year on March 27th, Easter Sunday. The "parade" route is along Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets. Is is always a wonderful celebration of strolling in Easter finery. Bonnets are taken to an extreme that only New Yorkers can reach. Expect to see live rabbits, pet snakes, flowers, clowns, and more. The street is closed to traffic for parade participants and people watching from 10am until 3pm.
For those looking for Easter Services near the parade area:
St. Patrick's Cathedral, 50th Street and 5th Avenue
Saint Thomas Church, 53rd Street and 5th Avenue
5th Avenue Presbyterian Church 55th Street and 5th Avenue
While there is no parade or official Easter egg hunt anymore in Central Park, you will find families picnicking, and hiding their own Easter eggs for the younger set. You will see many people and pets dressed in their finest, from rabbit ear headbands to extravigant bonnets. It is a photographers delight.
