Family Fridays: Djembe Beat

The Central Park Conservancy is joined by the Museum for African Art for a special Black History Month-themed program in which Kofi Osei Williams, percussionist and member of Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, introduces us to the Djembe drum.
The rhythms taught have come from the West African countries of Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin and Togo. No drumming experience required.
Programs are ongoing between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.; drop in any time before 3:30 p.m. to participate. Families only; no groups please. Advance registration not required. For more information, please call (212) 860-1370.
