Films on the Green Goes Musical - Tosca: the Movie

Part of the Films on the Green series sponsored by the French Embassy and the Romanian Cultural Institute of NY, foreign film lovers are invited to Central Park on Friday, July 16, 2010 for an evening of movie-watching. The screening will take place at Cedar Hill, located at the east side of the park, by 78th Street.
Starting at 8:30PM, the series will screen the film Tosca. A French movie with English subtitles, the plot tells of Baron Scarpia, chief of the pontifical police who, in the year 1800, suspects the painter Mario Cavaradossi of having helped a revolutionary, Angelotti. The Baron uses the jealousy of the painter's singer and mistress, Tosca, to help his ends.
