Hallett Nature Sanctuary
This tour of the 59th Street Pond and Hallett Nature Sanctuary, which was closed to the public since 1934 and set aside for wildlife, is given by the Central Park Teen Docents - a group of NYC high school students that writes and conducts guided walking tours in Central Park. The tour lasts approximately one hour.
All Teen Docent Tours are free and take place rain or shine, April through October, except in extreme weather conditions. Reservations are not required for open tours.
Groups: Because space is limited on the open tours, we ask that groups (10 or more people) arrange a special group tour by calling 212-360-1471 or e-mailing tcarta@centralparknyc.org. Group tours are also free and are available year-round.
