The best block party in NYC: Museum Mile Festival
Every June, Fifth Avenue closes to traffic from 82nd to 110th Street for the Museum Mile Festival, a free evening where eight museums open their doors to the public for one night. The officially designated Museum Mile becomes a pedestrian block party running more than a mile long.
Now in its 48th year, the festival brings live street performances, art activities for children, food vendors, and outdoor programming from each museum.The event takes place rain or shine.
