UNICEF Snowflake Lighting Ceremony Will take Place Steps Away From Central Park
A New York holiday tradition, the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflake. Shining in the heart of New York City at 57th Street and Fifth, the UNICEF Snowflake is a special symbol for the world's most vulnerable children. It hangs as a reminder of UNICEF’s commitment to reach a day when zero children die from preventable causes.
The evening’s namesake, The UNICEF Snowflake, is a 3,300 pound, 28-foot ornament made up of 16,000 hand-cut Baccarat crystals that shines each holiday season over the intersection of 57th Street and Fifth Avenue in New York City. The ornament - a beacon of hope, peace, and compassion for children everywhere – was donated to UNICEF by the Stonbely Family Foundation and its iconic architecture is courtesy of designer Ingo Maurer and Baccarat.
Location: The lighting event will take place at 57th Street and 5th Avenue in front of Bergdorf Goodman Department Store
Time: 7:30pm
