November 22, 2024 - The Central Park Conservancy is nearing completion of the Davis Center at Harlem Meer, which will replace the former Lasker Rink and Pool.
This new facility will feature a year-round swimming pool, an ice-skating rink, and a green roof designed to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. It will also feature accessible pathways and enhanced green spaces and offer free and low-cost programming for the community.
In homage to Olmsted's original design, a major feature includes a waterway and improved access via a floating boardwalk, which highlights the once-hidden Huddlestone Arch and improves the area's natural beauty.
Costing $160 million, the Davis Center is set to open next spring.
