Planning on attending the NYC Marathon? Competitor.com, reports that the event is not just about the race anymore. As anyone who has tried to book a hotel or walked the streets of NYC and Central Park the week going into the Marathon knows, there is much more going on.
Competitor.com has listed some key events on the race week calendar. The race is no longer about home made signs and tens of thousand of people lining the streets and cheering on the runners. This Sunday, October 25th, the NYRR has a low-key, 5-mile race like the marathon in its early days—stays within the borders of Central Park. It’s a great race for locals or marathoners looking to shake off nerves the week before the main event.
Next Thursday(10/29/2015) and Friday (10/30/2015), 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday (10/31/2015), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, there is a marathon expo at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, it’s where runners can pick up their bib number, take a pre-race selfie, and load up on free samples of granola bars, shakes and other goodies.
