Sep 4th, 2025 - A free "Soapbox Science" event will be held on Thursday, October 2, from 3 PM to 6 PM at Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park.
It will feature live talks by scientists from institutions like NYU, Columbia, and Mount Sinai, presenting research on topics such as de-extincting birds, virus-cell interactions, brain visual recognition, women’s depression, invasive insects, and yeast genetics.
The event is open to the public with no RSVP needed. Soapbox Science is a UK-originated public science outreach platform inspired by London’s Speaker’s Corner.
