On the heels of the scheduled release of Volume 3, their third album (not including a Christmas compilation), the indie duo She&Him -comprised of actress/singer/musician/songwriter Zooey Deschanel and singer/musician/songwriter M. Wells - will launch a month-long tour that includes a July 6 date at Central Park's SummerStage. The album, which is set for release May 7 in the US and May 13 in the UK/Europe, will include 14 tracks - 11 penned by Deschenal and 3 covers - and includes collaborations with NRBQ's Joey Spampinato, Mike Watt, Tilly and the Wall, Pierre de Reeder of Rilo Kiley, and Tom Hagerman from Devotchka.
Since the group's 2010 release of their second album, Volume Two, Deschanel has written the theme song for and starred in the sitcom New Girl, and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Original Song for the movie Winnie and the Pooh. In that time Ward enbarked on a world tour for his critically acclaimed solo project, A Wasteland Companion. The duo will appear at SummerStage with the Scottish indie pop band Camera Obscura.
