Nov 20, 2023 - With autumn's beautiful colors also comes a lot of work for turf crews in Central Park, who use blowers and mowers to remove and chop the fallen leaves from the park's 18,000 trees on 843 acres.
The Central Park Conservancy works hard to manage the grounds and leaves through mowing, mulching, and composting. Some lawns are allowed to rest while the mulched leaves feed the soil. This also helps to reduce waste and keep the park's ecosystem running sustainably.
