According to the NY Times, Beyoncé has added her name to the lineup, and she is in good company, joining Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Pearl Jam as headliners of the fourth annual Global Citizen Festival, a free show on the Great Lawn in Central Park, on Sept. 26, 2015.
While this is a free show, it is a ticketed event with a twist. Tickets must be earned by taking “actions,” including writing letters to world leaders, making phone calls to elected officials and signing petitions. More details are available at globalcitizenfestival.com. The show will also be streamed live on YouTube and MSNBC.com.
The Global Citizen platform was created by the Global Poverty Project in 2012, as a hub for innovative campaigns that work towards a world where every child can survive and thrive.
