Although once a strong presence in the 1970s and 1980s, the Eastern cottontail rabbit is nowhere to be found throughout the entire park. The last wild rabbit to call the park home was last spotted more than four years ago in the north section. It in unknown why there has been such a decline, although some speculate that raccoons and other predators might be a main factor. The park currently has no plans to repopulate the bunnies, but apparently every year just after Easter a domestic bunny or two can be found wandering the park.
