The New Jersey Star Ledger reported that the Rolex Central Park Horse Show, was held in the teardrop-shaped Wollman Rink, the competition was run against a vista of skyscrapers, while stands packed to capacity added vibrancy to the class that drew riders from five countries.
This was the second year of this annual event to be held in Central Park. It featured over five days of multi-discipline equestrian sport and performances, a number of events, which ranged from Arabians and Dressage to Hunters and Show Jumping
The backdrop of Pope Francis' visit, the attendant security and the overwhelming numbers of those who came to see the Pope, added some complications to the event, in spite of that, the event was a success.
