Chinese tycoon Chen Guangbiao took out a full-page bilingual advertisement in the New York Times to invite "poor and destitute Americans" to a charity lunch at the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park on June 25th. Each participant will also receive $300 cash.
Chen has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to various charitable causes over the years and has made it more than once onto Forbes' list of Asia's leading philanthropists. His goal with the luncheon is to show the U.S. that there are Chinese philanthropists.
