Nov 10, 2022 - In 2018, when the park's roadways were made largely car-free, a study on how to keep the loop safe for the multitudes of people who visit the park daily was started, but somehow got pushed to the side. The loop is a busy, chaotic roadway used by pedestrians, runners, horse and carriages, pedicabs, and cyclists. You can also add skateboarders, rollerskaters, and scooters to the mix.
After another near-fatal collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian, the Conservancy is thankfully taking another look on how best to keep everyone safe.
